Shlomo’s Review

Ever since Boogie’s Diner closed in the spring of 2015, there has been a comfort food shaped hole in our hearts. However, with the opening of Shlomo’s Deli & Grill, the hole in my heart has been filled with soup, salad, mac and cheese and more.

As a frequenter of Shlomo’s, I always leave with a full stomach and a smile on my face. The menu is longer than most I’ve seen, with everything you could possibly imagine in the deli apartment– such as mac and cheese of the day to slow roasted brisket sandwiches. The theme of the food is along the lines of Jewish delights such as matzo ball soup, latkes, and corned beef sandwiches, but even if you didn’t grow up in a Jewish household, nothing can beat these tastes.

The deli is now the go-to restaurant of choice for my friends and family. It is great for any occasion, seeing as they serve hearty breakfast, a mean lunch, and impeccable brunch.

Keeping in mind that I am a pescatarian, my favorite dishes so far are the Peggy’s Challah French Toast, Angel Hair Marinara, Roasted Tomato Soup, and Lisa’s Quinoa Tabbouleh Salad.

Not only is the food delicious, but the service is quick and the owners are lovely. The location is also a hot spot as it is right at the bottom of Aspen Mountain. It’s very convenient as you can come straight off the gondola, walk a few feet and be right at the toe of Shlomo’s Deli & Grill. There is even a gondola to-go breakfast menu for those skiers who want to get right up on the mountain.

For the family who wants to have a nice meal, friends who want to catch up on their chatting, the skier on the go, or the lone eater, this is the place for you. I highly recommend Shlomo’s. I know I’ll be going back soon.
