AHS’ Tehrani voted Swimmer of the Year for the second time

Kayla Tehrani, senior at AHS, awarded Swimmer of the year at State Championships.

Aspen High School Senior and captain of the AHS Girl’s Swim team, Kayla Tehrani, was voted Swimmer of the Year in the 3A Girls Swimming category for the second year in a row.

The Swimmer of the Year award is given to an athlete based on the number of accumulative points they have earned throughout the season and whether they exemplify good sportsmanship. According to an article by chsaanow.com, the award is voted on by the coaches at the Class 3A State Championships and given to one of the most well-respected competing athletes.

This year, alongside her award, Tehrani helped lead the AHS Skiers to an eighth-place finish and came runner-up in the 100 butterfly event.
