On Wednesday, September 10th, at an event at Utah Valley University, conservative activist Charlie Kirk was shot in the neck. This was Kirk’s first stop on “The American Comeback Tour,” a series of live events held at various universities. A spokesperson for UVU stated that a shooter fired from a building on campus approximately 520 feet away from Kirk.
Kirk is well-known on social media for his political debates and right-leaning political activism. He has millions of supporters across various platforms and co-founded Turning Point USA, a non-profit organization that advocates for conservative politics to be taught in schools.
At 2:40, President Trump released a post on Truth Social confirming Kirk has died.
The shooter is unidentified as of now and there is no suspect in custody. This is an ongoing story and will be updated as information becomes available.
