AHS Students’ Summer Jobs
The school year is rapidly coming to an end, but for many kids at AHS their work is about to begin. At the high school age, more and more kids are beginning to work over the summer. Their jobs and ages vary dramatically, but there seems to be a common thread; each student wants to gain work experience and knowledge.
Sophomore Katy Miller has been working as a sailing instructor for the past three summers and plans to work again this summer. She works at a kid’s sailing camp at Blue Lake called Big C Sailing Camp, where she helps teach young children how to sail and watches them in the water to make sure they are safe. Miller says she is most looking forward to the warm weather, and her favorite part is being able to get paid to be outside and spend time with kids.
