The iPhone 6: Bigger and Better
Being the only one in my family of five who has managed to not crack their screen or lose their phone, I knew that when September came around, so did my cell phone update. The release of the iPhone 6 was perfect timing and I just had to have it. However, as I looked at my iPhone 5 in perfect condition, I mentally made a list of the pros and cons of updating my phone. I concluded that the pros outweighed the cons and a week later, my 120GB white and silver iPhone 6 arrived in the mail. For how much I paid, I was expecting Steve Jobs to rise from the dead and deliver the phone himself. However, once I opened the sleek white iPhone box, I realized I had gotten my money’s worth.
The iPhone 6 has a 4.7 inch screen, .7 inches larger than the iPhone 5. This difference might seem miniscule, but the size difference is drastic when holding the two. You know how iPhone 5 users feel when they hold an iPhone 4? Well now us iPhone 6 users feel that same discomfort when we hold the iPhone 5. With the iPhone 6’s new curves it is incredibly comfortable to use.
While many people might argue that the iPhone 6 is much too large in size, it is very much one hand friendly, especially with its on/off button being on the right hand side of the phone. However, for those of you who only carry your phone around in your pocket, the iPhone 6 might be a little large for you, causing some discomfort. The large size of the device might be a negative to some, but it comes hand in hand with even better graphics.
The iPhone 6 screen display has been renovated with not only retina display, but also an HD display, creating gorgeous, crisp graphics on your phone. Apps are more interactive than ever and screening my favorite movies is a breeze on the 1334-by-750 pixel image with a resolution of 326 ppi. The higher the resolution is, the better the image quality and display on the screen will be.
With a new phone from Apple comes an even faster and efficient operating system. The iPhone 6 runs on an A8 chip with 64 bit architecture and an M8 motion compressor. For those of you who don’t speak geek, this basically makes your phone really fast, downloading files, pictures, songs etc. in just a few seconds. The A8 chip is a very serious piece of technology and can crunch data at extreme speeds. Every task done on the iPhone 6 is done with ease. With the new M8 motion coprocessor and barometer, the phone will keep track of your daily movements including how many steps you’ve climbed in a day, all of which is recorded in the “Health” app.
While many of the new features of the iPhone 6 have been released to older versions of the iPhone through IOS8, the quality of the iPhone 6 makes the purchase very much worthwhile.
