AHS’s 2014 Annual Halloween Costume Contest
Aspen High School’s annual Halloween costume contest took place during lunch on Friday, October 31st, and was hosted by Head Boy Ryer Gardenswartz and Head Girl Gaby Magana.
“My favorite part about the contest was just seeing how creative people were with their costumes. It was really fun to watch,” senior Magana said.
The first place winner for the third year in a row was senior Shea Strutz, who was dressed as stay puffed marshmallow man from the movie Ghostbusters. Freshman Ian Murtagh, dressed as a ghostbuster, accompanied Strutz. Second place were Mermaid Man, Senior Isabella Courtenay-Morris, and Barnacle Boy, senior Graciela Robinson. They won a $15 gift certificate to Paradise Bakery. Finally, seniors Megan Hansen and Becca Howard took home third place dressed as full-gowned Disney princesses, receiving a $10 gift certificate to Paradise Bakery.
“I was Cinderella because I’ve always wanted to be a princess for Halloween but I never got the opportunity to do it, so this year I decided to send it with a full gown, high heels, and a crown,” senior Megan Hansen said.
