The Final Standoff: Mr. P vs. Kirk

Mr.P looks dashing in the classic Batman Uniform

For the past 32 years, Mr. P and Kirk have ruled the school. They have been wandering the halls and giving out difficult test before we were even born. Heck, they probably were around when the famous breakfast bagel was invented. Students know them for their teaching, personality, and their countless quirky traits (which are countless). However, as the era of Mr. P and Kirk ends at AHS, a battle between the two old timers begins to brew.

Mr. P and Kirk are ready to start their new careers together as the superhero duo of Batman and Robin. The only question that needs to be answered is, who is Batman and who is Robin? Can one of them really take a backseat? Can they fill the large shoes that Christian Bale leaves behind? Both make very compelling cases for being Batman, but they also have faults that seem more Robin-esque.

Andy Popinchalk: The English Guru

Mr. P is a one-of-a-kind teacher, but he is really cut out for the superhero life? Mr. P can be ruthless, so much so that the evil IB program has actually criticized him for grading too hard (who would have thought that IB had a heart?). He has calves of steel and can hike up mountains with his trusty dog Jenny like nobody’s business. His stamina when he hikes is also unparalleled and would translate nicely to crime fighting. His analysis of what the villain’s costume actually meant would be so thorough that the villain would question all of his life decisions.

However, I’m not sure if he could chase down a criminal if needed. I’m also not sure how accurate he would be if tasked with throwing a Batarang. It seems as each semester pasts in Mr. P’s extended tenure his glasses become thicker and thicker. Would he be able to notice the Bat Signal in the sky? The world may never know.

Kirk Gregory: Mr. Consistency

Kirk Batman -- RyerKirk is a man of routine. Who knows if he will still walk to school with his lunchbox in hand when he isn’t actually teaching? Old habits die hard, and Kirk definitely has some ancient habits. Kirk would definitely be able to use his lunchbox to his advantage and have it double as a weapon. I’ve never seen some one use a lunchbox so effectively, and I can only imagine how he would use flannel shirts and Converse sneakers to his advantage. The obvious problem with Kirk and his multitude of routines would be scheduling. Would Kirk be willing to adapt his schedule in order to fight crime? What happens if evil attacks during his daily walk?

No matter what the Justice League decides; they can’t go wrong with either Mr. P or Kirk. They both seem fit for the job and ready to take on any new challenges presented. As the school knows, once they get the job, they won’t leave any time soon, no matter how many times they say it’s their last year.
