The Perks of Being Single on Valentine’s Day
Though the stereotypical single person on Valentine’s Day is usually pictured crying with a box of chocolates, there are some perks to not spending this special day with your undiscovered soul mate. Single people, have no fear. This holiday will be much more enjoyable spent alone.
- No Need for Dressing Up
No one to impress? Ditch the Victoria’s Secret dresses, ladies. Tighty-whities and onesie pajamas are in store for you tonight.
- Movie Marathons
Who needs a hot date when you can watch movies that are so much more romantic than real life ever will be? Because really, who craves a teenager going through puberty when you can watch Blake Lively jump into Leonardo DiCaprio’s arms?
- Today, the World is Your Oyster
Express yourself freely- do something your ex wouldn’t have dreamed of. No obligations, no reason to be stressed- all singles have the license to be knotty. Play Just-Dance at ungodly hours or rap battle your siblings.
- Free Of Charge
The average American spends $134 on Valentine’s Day. Guys, don’t stress about reservations, jewelry and expensive restaurants- the only date you have tonight is your cat, and it will last longer than any sweetheart ever could.
- Friends Party
More than likely, your friends are in the same boat as you. Now, you can spew any rants that would not be acceptable with your date. Have a dance party instead with the real ones you love.
- No Chance of Getting Dumped
The only thing that’s getting dumped tonight is snow. Crying and binge-eating are not on the agenda, and you will not be one of those sad people receiving a call and feeling betrayed.
- Day-After Discounted Candy
If none of these foolproof perks worked for you, there are always the on-sale chocolates and candies available at almost any store. These goodies are meant just for you and only you- no need to share with your loved one. Everyone deserves a gorging day.
Whether or not you have met your significant other, Valentine’s Day can be just as fun as you make it. Singles, this is the best time to embrace your solitude. It’s just a matter of time until you will be spending this day with him/her, so enjoy the perks while you can.
