Years of Jumanji

Since 1995 to 2019 there have been three successful Jumanji to come to theaters. All are filled with adventure and are known for their creative storylines. Technology allows the movies continue to get more high tech with their filming capabilities making the movies more appealing. The movies have gotten more popular in many viewer’s eyes.

The sequel to Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle was believed to be Jumanji 2, but it is actually called Jumanji: The Next Level. The movie has a major twist from the rest of its previous movies. Some new characters in the game and in real life were thrown into the mix creating even more diversity.

In the original Jumanji, the concept is simple, two kids find a board game and decide to play it. Alan Parrish (Robin Williams) decided to do the same thing, decades before leaving him trapped in the game. When the kids start playing they release Alan from the game. In hopes that the game will stop there but they have to find the other player. When everyone is reunited the game comes to life.

The second Jumanji, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, has a different concept to adjust to nowadays. Instead of playing on a board game, the game is transformed into a video game to intrigue the teenage crowds. The boy that got stuck in the game 20 years ago is found by a group of teens. In order to get out of the game, they must all change their perspectives on each other and work together.

The third Jumanji, Jumanji: The Next Level is about the four teens a couple of years after they get out of the game. Some of them are happy and successful, but one is not. He decides to go back into the game to become the tough character, played by Dwayne Johnson, he was while in the game. The only way to complete the game is if all the characters are played by someone. This time it’s different because the game was destroyed, but Spencer (the unsatisfied character) put it back together…well to the best of his ability. The game is so broken up that almost everyone is different or new characters in the game.

As the movies go on they get more complex, but they also keep getting more engaging. The first Jumanji was amazing for its time, and now the movies never fail to excite and amaze its audiences. The last movie ended in almost a flashback to the very first movie when all the animals come to the real world instead of the players going into the game. It is expected that there will be another movie to add to these legendary films.
