As 2013 comes to an end, we all scurry to make up New Year’s resolutions that will better us as a person. As we are trying to improve ourselves in Aspen, Hollywood is reflecting upon the gossip, hookups, and scandals of celebrities who have impacted our year in irrational or positive ways.

The number one most talked about person of 2013 is Miley Cyrus. When she isn’t sticking her tongue out, she is twerking against male singers and putting a foam finger between her legs. Miley has reinvented herself within the past year in a way that makes it almost impossible to believe she ever played Hannah Montana on the Disney Chanel. Cyrus is now a pot- smoking, profanity- talking, and rap- loving 21- year- old.

The second most talked about celebrity is Kim Kardashian. After being married to basketball star Kris Humphries for about as long as it takes to heat up a Hot Pocket, she has moved on to rap icon Kanye West. Kim kicked off the year of 2013 with the news that she was expecting a baby with West. She also received fame for being one of the largest pregnant women the public eye has seen since Octo-mom. On June 15, talk about the 33- year- old reality star began arising when she gave birth to her daughter and named her after a direction (North West.) Then in October, West popped the question and we can be sure to expect the whole wedding to be filmed on Keeping Up with the Kardashians.

Boys contain your drooling for this next most talked- about celebrity: 21–year- old supermodel, Kate Upton. She stole the spotlight in 2013 and was awarded model of the year for obvious reasons. The super model has also been an icon to girls and their own image. Upton is considered a plus size model and she has made being “larger” a beautiful thing. She can be seen on practically every magazine cover.

Every student who has a Twitter account can agree most of their Twitter entertainment of 2013 came   from the one and only Amanda Bynes. Bynes stole the spotlight in 2013 with her bleach white hair, cheek piercings and tweets in which she attacked other celebrities. Her twitter account is filled with crazy tweets like “i love surgery,” “my life revolves around my nose jobs until my nose is finished,” and “I need another nose job after seeing my mugshots.” These are only a minuscule portion of the hundreds of tweets Bynes has created. Bynes was committed to a psychiatric facility involuntary and has just been released. Let’s hope 2014 brings good things for Amanda.
