On February 3rd, 2020, the infamous New York Fashion week began, showcasing hundreds of talented designers. Most of the designers we’re not high-end brands. These new names in fashion sent social media into a frenzy. Stars from the new Netflix show “Cheer” gave the models their famous “mat-talk” as they strutted down the runway. Other designers brought celebrities to the runway, like Marc Jacobs who had Miley Cyrus walk for him. Here are some highlights from New York’s first fashion week of 2020.

Miley Cyrus made her fall 2020 New York Fashion Week debut while walking for Marc Jacobs. She is wearing a bra-like top, black pants, long gloves, and a zebra coat. The musician is beginning to release more music as well.

Netflix’s “Cheer” Brings Mat-Talk to Fashion Week

Netflix stars, Gabi Butler and Lexi Brumback made their fashion week debut at the Brandon Maxwell show. The girls were seen sitting in the front row at the show and giving mat-talk to the models as they walked down the runway. Mat-talk is the way they cheer themselves and each other on when performing their cheerleading routine.

Nike’s future sports forum

At Nike’s future sports forum, a tribute to Kobe Bryant took place. Kids of all ages wore his infamous Lakers number 24 jersey. The fashion show spectacle also featured Olympic athletes like Gabby Douglas and Carl Lewis. They used these athletes to present its new array of colorful sneakers.

Kaia Gerber’s outfit for the Marc Jacobs show

Kaia Gerber, daughter of Cindy Crawford, struts the runway in a fabulous hat and matching coat. The yellow fur, used in the Marc Jacobs show, is a stunning pastel and creates a 1930s vibe. I absolutely adore this look!
