New Pitkin County COVID Guidelines

Today Friday, October 30th, new Pitkin County Coronavirus guidelines and restrictions will be enforced for at least two weeks.

Informal group meetings will be reduced in number from the state maximum of 10 people to five. In accordance with the State restrictions, the groups may consist only of people from two different households.

As of October 29th, Pitkin County is at Level 2 “concern” on the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment’s COVID-19 Dial. According to pitkincounty.com, in the last two weeks, there have been two or fewer hospitalizations per day, an average positivity rate of 3.8%, and a cumulative incidence of 152.1. The moderately high cumulative incidence has primarily pushed our county from Level 1 to Level 2 on the COVID-19 Dial.

According to the Thursday’s breaking news in the Aspen Times, of the 11 outbreaks that are being investigated, which occurred in the last 4 weeks, three were related to informal gatherings.

Despite private gatherings being limited, many forms of larger assemblages are permitted. Schools may continue in-person, hybrid, and remote models as they see fit, 25 people may partake in group sports; additionally, worship, eating, work, and retail facilities are allowed to operate at 50% capacity.
