Western US winters during the 2026 season were off to a rough start, but a new interview with a primary source stated that it has nothing to do with Global Warming. These poor winters were brought up in an interview with El Niño, the weather man that controls the jet stream, and during this interview, we learned why East Coast resorts are getting loads of Snow. He has supposedly been receiving reports from easterners about the price increase in plane tickets from the East Coast to the West Coast, and has decided to take this cause into his own hands.

This winter has been a prime example of the widespread snow throughout the East Coast, as heatwaves and inconsistent cold temperatures have been piercing the Western US, while the East Coast has received many powder days. At the beginning of the season, many Western ski resorts were looking more like mountain bike trails with the single track of snow and bare ground around, while New York City was getting as much snow as the base of all of the Aspen Snowmass combined. We decided to investigate El Niño’s reason for why the weather wants to punish Westerners.

“Global warming stands as a huge issue, and I can’t control it anymore, so I thought, why not give it to the West first. I mean, their skiing is pretty overrated, and East Coast skiers have been paying outrageous prices to go ski mid powder in Colorado when they are paying huge prices to ski sheets of ice on the East Coast,” El Nino said.

In another statement, El Niño stated, “ The inflation in the US is growing too much anyway, and I just thought it would benefit all skiers on the East Coast wishing for better snow to stay where they are to help them save money on plane tickets. This margin will also allow skiers to keep up with the rising price of ski equipment.”

But as a result of one of the warmest winters that Western US skiers have ever seen, we decided to interview locals on the sudden decision of El Niño.

A local skier from Vail stated, “We need La Niña to help change the way winters run through our mountains, because as of now, the only season were looking forward to is wildfire season, which is going to ruin my whole hiking aesthetic.”
