Who Runs the World? Yoncé
Everybody knows to bow down to the Queen, and if you don’t, then you obviously are not from planet earth, let alone this whole universe. Beyoncé has put everyone under her diva fabulous spell and once you go Yoncé, you never go back.
At the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards on August 24th, Beyoncé tore down the house with one of the most entertaining and empowering performances I have ever seen in my life. She belted out some of her hits like “Pretty Hurts” and “Drunk in Love” while simultaneously blowing the audience’s mind with her flawless dance moves. But since it was Beyoncé, she obviously had to triple up all of the other performers at the show. She did this by sending a message about feminism.
“Feminist: The person who believes in the social, political, and economic equality of the sexes,” was the statement said on the screen behind Beyoncé during her VMA performance.
Of course this message came right before her song “Flawless” which only made all of the girls in the audience love her even more. Because of her empowering messages to women, this only adds to the perfection that is Beyoncé and her influence on people across the globe.
But she has been inspiring girls since way before this performance; even back in her Destiny’s Child days she still managed to be the topic of almost every teenage girl conversation. In our language today Beyoncé is basically the closest thing our society has to perfection, and with perfection comes admirers.
“When people say Beyoncé is God, there’s no disagreeing. I mean I’m ‘Crazy in Love’ with her and the things she preaches. Whether you’re a boy or a girl, Democrat or Republican, old or young, Taylor or Kanye, there is no denying that Bey is law and that that woman is an inspiration,” junior and Beyoncé fanatic Diana Flores said.
Just like Flores says, Beyoncé is a very influential person. She’s either always on the news or doing some big concert, with eyes watching her. But she uses her power over the human race to try and make the world a better, more peaceful place, which all celebrities should start doing. It’s no doubt that Beyoncé has made a huge impact on our world and will keep making an impact long after her daughter Blue Ivy is a great grandmother. Maybe one day if you become famous, or even just see an opportunity, to spread the word about something inspiring that you think will make the world a better place, take after Beyoncé and do it.
